Mom and I made it down to Knoxville uneventfully which is good news! We left Saturday morning at 9:00 am, and arrived at our destination of somewhere in Pennsylvania near the Maryland border at about 4:45 pm. The daughter of a long time friend of my mothers lives there, and it turns out to be pretty much exactly in between our house in Massachusetts and my new place in Knoxville. We had a great time staying over night there. I got to meet her two sons, husband, and very cute dogs whom my mom had met already but it was great for her to catch up with them as well.
We left Pennsylvania at 9:30 am Sunday after having a great pancake breakfast and saying our goodbyes. The second half of the trip was beautiful. We came down between two mountain ranges, and enjoyed seeing the snow lessen and lessen as we drove farther and farther south. We made it to Knoxville at around 6:00 pm after we had a long lunch, and immediately loved my new place. Basically I could not have lucked out with such such short notice!
I am living on the bottom level of a split level house that is owned by the girl that lives upstairs. She is very nice and has two adorable dogs that will lick you to death if you let them (I am a huge dog lover!). After settling in a bit to the new place, we went to the local grocery store to buy groceries to sustain us. After chatting with my new ... roommate for lack of a better word we finally got to sleep pretty late last night.
Today was all about getting my car registered in Tennessee (and getting a Tennessee license plate), getting my Tennessee license, and going shopping for furniture and other things that I needed. To say that it was a long day would be an understatement but the story will be left for tomorrow as I am really tired.
I'm going to wait to post pictures of my new place until I get more settled in, however there will definitely be photos!

That is all for now. Good luck to those of you living in the north (I can't believe I'm a southerner now!!) that have to deal with the upcoming snow storm.
